The Rules for American RouletteRoulette is an interesting game of chance, luck and speculation. All over the globe the casinos featuring it, register to either the American style of roulette or the French style of roulette. There are some differences in the rules, table layout, and the bets. The American roulette system has 38 numbers on its roulette wheel including the number double zero, other than the numbers from 0 to 36. One must be aware of the major difference in the layout of the table in the American roulette. All the numbers except that of zero and double zero are either red or black, instead of white in the French roulette. Then again, there lies a difference in the position of the side bets and other arrangement. A person can make Inside bets and Outside bets, up to a specific amount and a limited number of times. A person can bet on a single number, a certain group of numbers, on a black or red slotted number or, on an even or odd number. The croupier declares the slot on which the ball rests to have won, by placing the dolly. There are two kinds of bets, the Outside bets where the betting is done on the outer part of the table and the Inside bets corresponding to the inner section. With respect to the Inside betting, a bet is placed equivalent to the smallest amount of bet on the table. The bet is placed directly on a single number or a split bet is placed on two adjacent slots having half pay-offs. There are other options such as; the Street bet that allows you to bet on three numbers in the same horizontal line, the Corner that allows a bet on four numbers in a square slot, the Six Line that enables a bet on two adjacent streets and a Basket for a bet on the intersection of three numbers. The outside bets have the following varieties. A bet can be placed among the first lowest eighteen numbers, or the last highest eighteen numbers that show up. One can wager on a red or black slot of the roulette wheel, or an even or odd number, or he can place a Dozen bet, or a Column bet. Obviously, these all bets have different payouts and different probabilities of odds for the player. The American roulette will have a similar payout as the French roulette. However as the American roulette has a single as well as the double zero, therefore the probability of losing your bets is greater. Some casinos also allow the Surrender rule. In such cases, the person who bets on an Outside bet loses only half of his bet on a zero and double zero bet.
