Do you own an aggressive dog? This can cause problems for you, your family and neighbors, not to mention, of course, the dog itself. Obviously, it is easier to train a puppy, but with a little extra time and patience you can train older dogs. The first thing to consider is why the dog is becoming aggressive. The Alaskan Malamute is a medium to large dog in the sled dog family. The dog is 24 to 26 inches at the shoulder and the bitch 22 to 24 inches. The dog will weigh approximately 80 to 95 pounds, and the bitch will be between 70 and 85 pounds. The coat of the Alaskan Malamute has a very dense double coat which is 2 to 3 inches long. This dense coat is what allows the Alaskan Malamute to remain outside in arctic winter conditions

Potty training a puppy is a task that requires time and a lot of patience, there will be accidents. Choose areas that you are happy for the puppy to use as a toilet and place newspaper or mat there. Whenever your puppy appears to need the toilet take it to the area and wait with it, you can use short encouraging phrases if you wish. When the puppy starts to go then use a short phrase, or single word, which will become their toilet instruction.

Dog tricks are a great source of fun for both the dog and owner. Basic tricks can be easily learnt by your dog and offer great amusement to all that watch. Often tricks the dog learns are behaviors that they already have, but you are asking for them to do it on a command. Examples of these are things like "yawn" Your dog yawns naturally, so all you do is as you see the dog yawn say "yawn" and make a fuss of your dog.

Puppy housebreaking is more than just elimination training. Safety proofing the home and yard protects the puppy during the training stage.

There cannot be anything worse than getting news from your vet that your dog, your cat, or whatever you keep as a family pet, is ill and needs expensive surgery.
